During these dreadful days many of us live too far from the sea to contemplate safely visiting a sandy beach, paddling and keeping a social distance from everyone else. If you have young children who have not been able to visit the seaside yet I do hope that they will experience that first touch of afternoon sea very soon. My thanks to Maria Vidal for this delightful animation of my poem Testing the Water which was created this spring for an undergraduate Graphic Design module. Maria is an illustrator from Portugal studying at Nottingham Trent University. She tells me that “drawing and music are two things I couldn’t live without”.
