Found Poetry writing workshop

On Saturday 26th November 2022 (2 – 3.45pm) I am leading a writing workshop for Nottingham Poetry Society that focuses on what are two key inspirations for me when I’m writing poetry: Found Poetry and using archival photographs and maps. Each aspect will be introduced with reference to my recent work for Melbourne Unesco City of Literature and the Poetry Place project currently touring Nottinghamshire libraries. The workshop will provide starting points for writing and opportunities to share rough drafts with others in the room within a safe, supportive and critical space.

Venue: Room 3 at International Community Centre on Mansfield Road. Free to NPS members. £5 for non-members. Places are limited so, if you’d like to participate, please contact nottinghampoetrysociety@gmail.com or notposoc@btinternet.com.

If you are coming to the workshop you might find it useful to bring a copy of a newspaper with you or have access to a digital version.

  1. This looks to be a really exciting workshop. It recognises that poetry begins with what we are, our experiences, our everyday and otherwise and our environment. Our imaginations enable us to go beyond what is tangible into the realms of the metaphysical.
