Poetry Place the virtual exhibition has finally gone live here on the Inspire website. It includes a podcast intro with some readings of photograph-inspired poems that I wrote while developing the workshops. The exhibition is accompanied by a gorgeously produced book featuring all the exhibited poems by Sandy Edwards-Walsh, Janet Gibson, Rae Gray, Leslye Henstock, Anita Jackson, Judith Lockwood, Helen Mitchem, Ann Street, Angela Reddaway, Lytisha Tunbridge, Gail Webb and Jayne Williams. It has been a delight to see these poems develop and I hope the poets are as thrilled as I am by the final outcome.
If you’d like to visit the exhibition in a library gallery you can see it currently at Worksop Library 16 November 2021 – 22 February 2022 and then at West Bridgford Library 6th April – 22nd May 2022 and at Beeston Library from 19th January – 23rd February 2023. I hope it will inspire you to find out more about the Inspire Picture Archive and the stories behind the images.
Thank you to Michelle Dunstan for her perseverance in bringing this project to completion and to her Inspire colleagues Clare Brown and Tim Warner for all their support. Thanks to our funders Miner2Major and The Heritage Lottery Fund: Poetry Place would not have been possible without you.
